I have been building my Minotaurs since the Space Marines Codex release. I have been trying to make them a little different to my "normal" models. The fluff for the Minotaurs is really interesting and I love the thought of their ferocious ship to ship actions in the void. For that reason I have decided to try some custom "tech" bases to represent them fighting across a space Marine Battle Barge. Given the fluff where they almost wipe out the Lamenters chapter it will likely be a boarding action against them.

With the above said here are my attempts at these bases. These are just blanks that I will cast and then add details to them to keep them looking different across a whole army. Now my question to you all is whether I need more blanks? Will these 5 be individual enough to replicate over a whole army without looking a bit boring and repetitive?

While getting the Word Bearers painted I have been messing around with a few little build projects. Usually I try to keep each project updated separately on here but as I have a little backlog on posts I thought I should give you a roundup. First up is the guys above. He will be a Tigurius/Tyrannic War Librarian I was commissioned to build. I won't lie, I am going to be sad to hand him over. A few cables and gap filling etc are needed to finish him off.

Finally with the new marine dex released recently I have opened the hallowed Minotaurs project box.

This weekend I was at Tabletop Nation for a tournament. The blog was pretty quiet last week because I was in a painting frenzy trying to get the Word Bearers up to scratch. Although they need a lot more work to finish off and a few things to tidy I was pretty happy with them.

Knowing that I needed to get the army finished I booked Thursday and Friday off work and settled down for a paint marathon. To my surprise I had everything "good enough" for tournament play by Thursday night. Therefore Friday I head down to the FLGS to get my first ever game in with this army before taking it to a tournament the next day! Above is me taking on some Black Templars with my horde.

I have been working feverishly to get these Word Bearers done. The big batch paint of about 100 models has now hit a point where I am picking up a unit at a time to finish off. Last night I managed to get the bikers to a point where I could varnish and leave them ready for a tournament this weekend. 

There is a lot more work to be done on these guys but for now they are ready to shed blood for Chaos.
